Daily Processing

In the application, data is processed on a transaction basis. This means that a single transaction within the business sector provides the user with all the necessary processing options required to work through the transaction. All the processing steps required to open an Import L/C, for example, can be carried out in a single transaction. All the necessary settlements, credits and debits, payments, letters and other correspondence, limits, and so on can be processed and/or generated within a transaction. By making certain processing selections, either additional options are enabled, or single non-applicable options are disabled.

Contingent on the nature of certain individual transactions, calendar entries can be automatically carried out. Moreover, it is possible to enter events in a calendar manually.

If several transactions have been generated for a contract and one of those transactions has been sent for 'correction', all other transactions relevant to the contract which have not been released are also sent for correction. Each time a new transaction is started, the user is informed of any other transactions relevant to the contract that are waiting for release.

During processing, the integrated Limit System checks whether a sufficient limit is available for the relevant transaction. If this is not the case, the user is given a suitable prompt which then needs to be confirmed. However, the transaction can be processed further and when released, further 'warnings' are also displayed.

Before processing is concluded, an option is available enabling the user to display all the correspondence generated. Texts can be added to and - depending on the business sector - amended. Amendments made to the text - such as within a guarantee text, for example, - can be displayed by the user as well as by the verifier. When releasing a transaction, an indication is given if texts have been changed. SWIFT messages and other formatted messages are displayed in their 'prepared' state, i.e. the description of the fields in a formatted message is also displayed.
