General Information

The Maker-Checker concept is used in banks as a risk control measure where a business contract is needed to be checked and approved before it is applied and made final. This is because the odds of two or more different people making the same mistake is very very small. Also in some markets the maker-checker concept would be a regulatory requirement or quality control process to protect against corruption and negligence.

DOKA-NG allows different release methods (single/multiple) for business transactions from Maintaining Entity Group Transaction Profiles. If Multi Signature is selected, the configuration for multiple signatures can be defined in the transactions of Maintaining Multi Signature Setting (DBxSIH). Multiple authorization with currency wise transaction limit can be set up here. Signature hierarchies can be mainly classified into two groups, 'Normal' (i.e., Signatures A - Signature D) and 'Special' (i.e., Special level 1 - Special level 3). Different signature hierarchies for different slabs of amount can be defined here. In Maintaining Multi Signature Setting more information is given.

Assigning these signature roles to the users are done in Maintaining User Profiles. All users/authorizers mapped to that release level could release a contract defined in that particular signature hierarchy slab.

Authorization/Release of business contracts which are waiting for approval can be done from Control and Release of Transactions or The Office or also from that particular contract's To-Do list.
