Codetables are tables that contain codes and their relevant long-text descriptions.

Code descriptions can be defined separately for each of the languages used in the system.

Codetables can be used frequently and in various transactions with the same set of codes and descriptions. They are used to provide users with a long-text description in the user language instead of a code.

A typical example is a table of country names in which ISO country codes have been entered, but displays (especially in selection lists) show the name of the country in the relevant user language.
