Sending Notify Messages

Transaction DBMNTF

The transaction is used to send messages/notifications to individual users or to all active application sessions in all entities.

The input fields “User ID”, “Current Transaction”, “Appl. Server” and “Display Server” can be used to determine the group of receivers.
Only active sessions with the corresponding attributes will the receive the message.

After selecting the message type and entering the text, the message will be sent by clicking the icon .
The log displays the receiver sessions and users and can be displayed via the icon .

When calling this transaction via command line, the following switches can be used:

Switch Description
-usr <User> User name of the user, to whom the notification has to be sent to.
-txt <Text> Message text
-ntfssninr <INR\SSN> Message to session with ssn\inr <xxx>
-file <File> File with message text for longer texts (e.g. c:\tmp\Message.txt)
-apppid <PID> Message to session with Unix process ID <xxxxx>
-appsrv <xxxx> Application Server = Message to all sessions with computer name <xxxx>
-lstfrm <Transaction> Message to all sessions, that currently use this transaction (e.g. <GITOPN>)
-typ <x> Message type x
1 = Emergency
2 = Alert
3 = Critical
4 = Error
5 = Warning
6 = Notice
7 = Info
8 = Hint
9 = Debug
C = Close transaction
U = Update session status
X = Exit session
